A lifeless statue extends her arm and beckons:
“Keep, ancient lands, your stories pomp!” cries she
With silent lips, “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
The living Christ extends his hand and invites: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
This book is dedicated to the “tired, poor, huddled masses” of Christians who yearn to be free from the oppression of external religion and find rest in Christ, to those believers who have been cleansed from their sins because of the cross but have not fully experienced the power of Christ’s resurrection life, and especially to pastors who long to see God’s grace unleashed in their church.
