Handbook for Soldiers of the Cross is an attempt to show what was, what is, and what may come, in ministering on an individual basis at the beginning of the 21st century. We have known a society that was friendly to Christianity for 200 years which is no longer the case; secular humanism has made deep inroads into all aspects of our lives, eroding the spiritual vitality of our country. Added to this, the possibility of continued terrorism could drive many to the Church for hope and help due to adverse living conditions. Taken together, many soldiers of the Cross must be called up by the Church for basic training to meet the possibility of unprecedented need. This book shows how ordinary laymen have been and can be used of God to participate in a great harvest of souls as self-strength proves futile. We must have a standing army rather than attempting to train and equip soldiers of the Cross when the conflict can no longer be deniedthus, the Handbook for Soldiers of the Cross, A Call to Arms for the Church.
